ABTA
Travel Agencies that wish to show a level of professionalism to their customers join ABTA which stands for the Association of British Travel Agencies.
Formed in 1950 ABTA and its Members have been ensuring that holidaymakers get the most from their holidays by working to extremely high professional standards whilst offering choice, value and quality.
ABTA was formed by 22 of the leading travel companies at the time. They now represent over 5,000 travel agencies and in excess of 900 tour operators throughout the British Isles. Members of the association range from independent travel agencies and small bespoke tour operators through to well known high street publicly-listed companies. If your tour operator carries the ABTA logo you can expect choice, high levels of customer service and above all value for money.
In July 2008 ABTA and the Federation of Tour Operators (FTO) amalgamated which created an even more respectable and authoritative voice for the travel industry.
